As artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly reshapes economies and societies, regulators and innovators alike face a challenge: how to test bold new technologies without putting people or markets at risk. One tool gaining momentum in the United States is the sandbox, a controlled environment where emerging technologies can be tested under supervision, with rules that are flexible but not absent. Sandboxes allow experimentation while preserving trust, helping decision-makers learn what works (and what doesn’t) before changes are rolled out at scale.

Le Groupe de recherche en droit et économie politique et le Centre de recherche en droit public vous invitent à assister à l’enregistrement de trois entretiens menés par la journaliste Aude Lancelin avec le journaliste Stéphan Bureau (29 septembre), l’historien Blake Smith (1er octobre) et la philosophe Barbara Stiegler (2 octobre). Ces entretiens auront lieu au Laboratoire de Cyberjustice (B-2215).

UPDATE – 12 September 2025: The Wikimedia Foundation will not appeal the UK High Court’s decision to dismiss our challenge to the UK’s Online Safety Act (OSA) Categorisation Regulations. The Foundation will continue to monitor how the Court’s guidance is followed, and Wikipedia is protected as the OSA moves forward.

Seit über zehn Jahren führt der Aktionstag „Türen auf mit der Maus“ Kinder bundesweit hinter die Kulissen von Unternehmen, Universitäten und Forschungslaboren. Heuer ist auch die Julius-Maximilians-Universität (JMU) Würzburg mit dabei: Am 3. Oktober gibt es spannende Mitmachangebote aus der Mathematik, der Mikrobiologie und der Physik.

Zusammenfassung Phagen sind Viren, die Bakterien befallen. Im Kampf gegen antibiotikaresistente Krankheitserreger könnte ein therapeutischer Einsatz von Phagen äußerst nützlich sein. Doch sind die molekularen Interaktionen zwischen Phagen und Wirtsbakterien bislang nicht hinreichend verstanden.
